Introduction

DOGWISH was created by Bob Taylor of The United States K-9 Academy, an all breed, complete dog training academy. Bob is a world renowned K-9 psychologist, behaviorist, and World Champion dog trainer, to works with people stricken with several types of disabilities. With 30 years of international work, he has become a world leader in the areas of canine consciousness, mentality, and behavioral transformation. Through Bob Taylor's studies in animal consciousness he developed a fascination with training dogs that would be capable of assisting clients with special physical and mental needs. These dogs would assist them in long term therapy, recovery, and function ability. His work motivated him to train dogs for people suffering from severe autism and chronic seizure disorders. Bob became California's first Licensed Service Assistance K-9 trainer. His work is unequaled for success in supplying psychiatric service K-9s to help people with developmental and related disabilities.

In 2000 we trained a dog for Battalion Chief Craig Fry who then discussed his honest concerns about the poor status of our present Search and Rescue (SAR) K-9 and Tracking programs in America, and the need for training SAR K-9s for Fire Departments nation-wide. In order to take up the challenge Bob realized his U.S. K-9 Training Academy was going to need help.

At the same time a Supervisor with the Department of Homeland Security brought Bob her dog for training. She was amazed at Bob's ability to transform and create behaviors in her dog that she thought was impossible. She began to tell us the tremendous need for trained K-9s that existed within her organization. Research shows over 250 Airports in the Western United States alone do not have access to usable K-9s. We began to receive calls and emails from Homeland Security Officers throughout the country requesting our help.

This year we were contacted by an Administrator with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), who needed training for his new SAR K-9. He explained that FEMA was cutting financial support for all K-9 Emergency Preparedness dogs, and asked if Bob would consider accepting the challenge for training the nations FEMA K-9s. Bob accepted and has been meeting that challenge ever since. FEMA K-9s are currently in training at our new kennels.

Seeing the need, Bob created DOGWISH , a non-profit-charitable organization that reaches out to the American public for help, and uses the money to build the most needed K-9 oriented organization in history. Through DOGWISH , totally separate from United States K-9 Academy , it's mother company and primary supplier for professionally trained K-9's , we are building a national bridge of top trainers, breeders, and experts that are willing to give time, dogs, and training, to help reach our goals.

As DOGWISH has become active in the field, an overwhelming need for custom trained Service Assistance K-9's is evident. The majority of people needing these dogs couldn't possibly afford the cost of ownership, training, and maintenance. Thus, we purchased the needed property (some 40 acres and growing), trained a competent staff to care for, handle, and train the dogs, set up a superior breeding program, built a public relations staff, and are currently constructing a facility for training with the "Disabled" -- (the first of its' kind), and an extensive SAR and National K-9 training center. At our first home show we were discovered by a regional FBI Administrator, who, after spending time at United States K-9 Academy Headquarters, and doing the proper investigative research, has now accepted a position with DOGWISH as our liaison with the Federal Government. Through our relationship with Doctor David Kelso we are setting up for more K-9s for our National Emergency Preparedness K-9 team. We have also gained support status from the American Red Cross. I was introduced to Pocket Nutrition through Melody Jensen, the founder. She shared with me one of her newest products; “PAW-KET NUTRITION”. This is the vitamin spray for dogs. I immediately saw the value of administering vitamins in a spray form. Many times dogs will not take pills or liquid. If they are vomiting pills and liquid should not be given. Any being that is vomiting can benefit from vitamins. The spray form is ideal because it is safe to give to nauseated or anorexic pets and is easy to administer and well absorbed. After doing a little research it is also clear to me that it is safe to use in cats. The vitamin C is safe and can be beneficial in cats.

I had the opportunity to use the Vitamin sprays for myself while I had a sore throat and was not eating much. It was perfect because I was not eating much due to my sore throat. I taking vitamin pills on an empty stomach makes me nauseated. Using the sprays, I was able to get the vitamins I needed to help me heal without the unpleasant side effect of nausea.

I also love the idea of using the sprays for myself when traveling. I have several trips planned and plan to make my sprays a staple in my suitcase!

To all of our "Pocket" and "Pawket" Friends,

I have had my darling dog, Wheely Willy, on the spray vitamin for dogs for one month, and would like to give you feedback. I have always had trouble supplementing Willy's diet, because usually pet vitamins are too large for him to swallow, and when I break them up and add them to his food, he refuses to eat the food. The Pawket Spray Supplement has been so easy to use. I just open his mouth and give two quick sprays twice a day, before each meal. His appetite has been great! He is prone to tummy aches, but has not had one since starting the vitamin. His skin looks great, and he has lots of energy. I am just thrilled at having an easy and sensible way to keep my beloved friend healthy.
